What's actually different
Generated from the brands' published specs. Nothing here comes from lab testing; see how we read specs.
Shape
The 3 TruFoam Genesis 14mm is an elongated shape (16.5" × 7.5"); the 4 TruFoam Genesis 14mm is a hybrid shape (16.2" × 7.8"). Longer, narrower shapes add reach and leverage; wider faces give a bigger sweet spot.
Swingweight
The 3 TruFoam Genesis 14mm has the higher swingweight: 119 against 107. Higher swingweight means more plow-through on drives; the 4 TruFoam Genesis 14mm's lower number means quicker hands in fast exchanges.
Twistweight
The 4 TruFoam Genesis 14mm has the higher twistweight: 6.58 against 6.21. Higher twistweight resists twisting on off-center hits, so the 4 TruFoam Genesis 14mm should be the more forgiving of the two when you miss the middle.
Price
The 3 TruFoam Genesis 14mm costs $30 less right now: $200 at JustPaddles (checked Oct 21) against $230 at JustPaddles (checked Oct 21).
